The staff were really friendly and helpful, and for the price I can’t complain. The heater in my first room didn’t work, but they moved me to another one right away. I’d read the reviews, and the stay turned out better than I expected. At this price, don’t expect the Ritz.

On my work trip back to South Boston, this was my go to place again, and it didn’t let me down. I’ve stayed here before and reviewed it, too. The staff are warm and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and I felt safe. The parking lots were well lit. They also provide housekeeping every day, which is more than a lot of hotels seem to offer these days.

The TV worked well, but this was easily the dirtiest hotel of our two-week road trip. We found bed bugs and roaches, and the bathroom tub had corroded drain parts and paint covering bad spots. There were dark marks on the bathroom wall that wiped off easily, a raised plank of flooring, and an outlet and light switch that didn’t work. The ductwork under the beds rattled whenever we moved. The door lock’s card reader screws were loose, so I tightened them with a fingernail file.

The bathroom was gross, with mold and dead bugs on the floor, and my room was filthy and had bugs. The hallways smelled funky, too. I only stayed because every other hotel around there was sold out. Breakfast at about 6:15 the next morning was almost gone. I couldn’t wait to check out, and I definitely won’t return. I just hope I didn’t bring any bugs home with me.
