Sonesta ES Suites Somerset

The cigarette smell was unbelievably disgusting, as if someone were smoking right beside me. The room was revolting, with what looked like blood stains and black marks or burn marks on the main carpet. It made me wonder whether these rooms are ever cleaned. Please don’t stay here. I genuinely worry you could get sick.

I only stayed because someone else booked this for a business trip. The rooms were dirty, service was poor, and the place seemed completely unmaintained. It was hugely overpriced for what you get and for the location. Some other guests struck me as an odd bunch with very low standards for living and hygiene. For example, people showed up for breakfast in their pajamas, looking like they’d just dragged themselves out of bed. I would absolutely never stay here again, even for free.

The room was filthy, and cleaning just once a week is ridiculous. There were no batteries in the smoke detectors. A male receptionist kept swiping my card; fifteen minutes after I left, someone tried to hack it, and my bank flagged it after the second attempt. I told the manager, but he denied that it could have happened.

We used to come here regularly, but last time we didn’t feel safe. A pitbull was wandering around the parking lot without a leash, and its owner came out with two more pitbulls. A drunk woman asked us how to find her building because she’d never been there before, so we told her to ask reception. The next morning, there was broken glass on the first floor and the whole window was damaged.
