The day flows so smoothly at Migis Lodge that I can focus on capturing the real moments instead of sorting out logistics. As a wedding photographer, I also love how the light shifts from quiet getting-ready time in the cabins to sunset out on the water. That sunset is always a highlight. There’s so much to work with on the property, from the tall pines and lake views to all the beautiful spots just a short walk apart. I can make a wide range of images without leaving the grounds. The staff are warm, professional, and so accommodating, and it’s clear they care about the couple’s experience. Everything works well for the couple and the whole vendor team. One of my favorite places to photograph a wedding in Maine.

After working on the property for several weddings, I can say it’s one of my favorite wedding venues. The staff work hard to make the weekend memorable for everyone. One time, they even set up a 5k running course on the wedding day. The grounds feel intimate and distinctive, with a beautiful setting for a wedding. It suits couples who want a full weekend with their guests and a cozy, elevated rustic feel.

We went to a friend's son's wedding and wished we had more time there. Migis Lodge is a lovely high-end resort tucked away in Maine, around a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Boston. My husband and I stayed in a well-appointed one-bedroom cottage. There are cottages of different sizes across the property, and the meals were thoughtfully put together and really good. The resort has plenty to do, including pickleball, tennis, swimming, kayaking, hiking, massages, and more. The pre-wedding ceremony and wedding were outdoors in two different spots, then the wedding dinner was held indoors.
