Baymont by Wyndham South Haven

We were happy with the price we paid and would stay here again. The room was clean and basic, which suited us for the time we were there. Check-in went smoothly, and breakfast was simple. We ate there both mornings and wished there had been something to go with the eggs.

Good value, with an indoor pool, hot tub, and hot breakfast with things like eggs and waffles. The private hot tub was big enough for two adults, and a restaurant was within walking distance.

The location felt odd, squeezed between a Shell gas station and Walmart, and the hotel had a musty smell in the lobby and halls. We were put in a smoking room we hadn't requested, and cigarette odor hit us as soon as we opened the door. The pool was dirty; breakfast was okay. The bathroom area had been renovated, but at this nightly price, I wouldn't say the hotel was worth it. If you have another option, I'd go elsewhere.

We picked this place while passing through because the kids wanted to swim. After a long day on the road, I put my feet up on the bed and soon got a bug bite on my leg. Later I spotted a bug on the pillow. The desk offered to move us, but nearby hotels were booked when I checked four of them. I was shown two rooms here: the first was dank and smelled bad, while the second was only a little better. The floors throughout were dirty, the carpets were awful, and the shower barely got warm enough. Not a good stay, though I'm glad we were only passing through.
