Alder Inn

My family and I rented two rooms and had a nice time hanging out and playing the games provided. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. It's a little away from the main drag, with lots of food and brewery options nearby. If we come back to South Lake Tahoe, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Sam and his team always go above and beyond, and I love staying at their properties. It's a cute, clean place with great staff, close to restaurants and drinks, good coffee, and the ski resort. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a good spot in South Lake. Thanks, Sam!

Easy check-in and a good location, but the rooms were unattractive, the beds uncomfortable, and there were no real amenities. No ice machine, and the Keurig had no pods or tea. The bathroom stayed freezing even when the rest of the room was boiling. They'd set the temperature to 80 degrees when we arrived. We could hear every footstep upstairs. Parking was a mess, with no clear markings and too few spots for the rooms, so I doubt they often sell out. This works if all you need is somewhere to sleep after skiing and don't care about having anything nice.

The room was okay, but in my opinion kind of dirty. It seemed like they only cleaned the basics, the sink, toilet, bed, and floors. There were cobwebs on the curtains, the door was dirty, and the remotes had nasty stuff on them. The TV only had a few channels and didn't really work for us. The alder is in a great spot, though watch out for the potholes in the parking lot when driving through.
