After the biggest snowstorm of the season was forecast to shut the roads, I called Sunday morning to cancel the Sunday booking I'd made on Friday for two nights. They said management would call me to discuss a refund. I called back several times over the following weeks, but eventually they stopped answering and returning messages. They also charged me an extra $100 for kids in the room, which I didn't use. I offered to take credit toward a future stay, as other places in Tahoe do during major storms, but they never replied. Shady business and management. It's the same management as High Country Lodge, and I'd avoid both properties.

This was my second stay in a little over a year, and both visits were great. The location suits me too: it's away from the busy city but only a couple of minutes from everything. I don't know why this place gets bad reviews. Highly recommend it. When our TV had a connection issue, they came right away and fixed it. It turned out to be a problem on Spectrums end, not the hotel's. We also called the office about the jacuzzi, and someone quickly came to unlock and clean it, then made sure we had big, fresh towels.

There's a hot tub and the rooms are beautiful. It's peaceful here, away from Tahoe's noise and bustle. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and shopping are all within walking distance. Bring your bike to get around to Tahoe's hot spots.

The location is fantastic, and the owners' involvement really shows. This place is neat, very clean, and well maintained. It cost a fraction of what the name-brand hotels I've stayed at recently charged, yet I liked it better. The rooms aren't large, but they're definitely big enough. I'll take a clean, comfortable, well-appointed room over a big chain any day. I'd stay here again and again.
