Best Western Plus Timber Cove Lodge

We were a bit unsure about staying somewhere pet friendly, but you’d never know from the room. It was clean, had a great lake view right outside the sliding door, and was nice overall. There wasn’t a refrigerator. Breakfast at the Timber Lodge Cafe was a letdown. There were plenty of open tables, but service was slow, maybe because they were short staffed, and the staff weren’t very friendly. The food arrived barely warm, I never got a second coffee, and the waiter only came by once to bring our meal. We had to get up and find someone just to pay. We wouldn’t eat there again.

For the price, this is the best place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. The rooms are really comfortable, and the fireplace and balconies are great. There’s a beach just behind the hotel, with a pier and pretty much anything you’d want to rent on the lake. Lots of restaurants are within walking distance, including a brewery with amazing food. I’d highly recommend staying here!
