The lounge is a nice place to unwind with a beer or wine, and the staff were attentive. We stayed with friends in a double room with two bathrooms, which made things easy. Really cool spot for a group or family, and we’ll definitely come back.

We’re already trying to figure out when we can return. The outside spa bath was lovely after a day of exploring, and the bar in the main lodge serves a great wine flight at a happy hour price. Our cabin was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a fireplace that made it feel extra cozy. The Black Bear Lodge staff were so welcoming and had loads of tips for things to do and places to visit. There are thoughtful touches throughout, from arrival cookies and games to comfy seats by the fire and plenty of good tea and coffee in the room. It made for a special trip.

We booked a Rubicon room, which was more affordable but still comfortable, and it had a balcony or patio. The lobby and bar are beautiful and cozy, and there were baked cookies waiting for us on arrival. Coco at the front desk and bar was wonderful and made our newlywed stay even more memorable. We had a great time at Black Bear and will be back.

The kitchen supplies were great, and I especially liked having tea and coffee. We stayed in January, and the room was clean, warm enough, and had everything I needed. The bed and pillow were comfortable too. I strongly recommend Black Bear Lodge. I only wish the King room with balcony had two armchairs.

It was peaceful and quiet, while still close to the lake, casinos, and Heavenly Village. The property grounds are beautiful, and the lodge has a warm, cozy atmosphere. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The personal little touches made a difference. We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge and have found our go-to place for visits to South Lake Tahoe. Thanks for everything!
