Econo Lodge Inn & Suites South Lake Tahoe

The room was comfortable, and the location near Heavenly Resort was handy for my one-night stay. But I had to ask for my Diamond Member water and snack after check-in, since they weren't in the room as they have been at other Hilton locations. The Burger Me QR code in the lobby and room said to pick up at the lobby. When I got a text that my food was ready, it wasn't at the front desk, and I was sent to the restaurant. They should coordinate better about where hotel guests collect orders. Parking also cost $15 per night, so neither the restaurant promotion nor parking felt as convenient as advertised.

We had a good stay and would come back. The staff were friendly, check-in was quick, and our clean room was comfortable. The shower was big, and we loved the warm pool and hot tub. There was also a nice-looking exercise room, though we didn't use it. We appreciated having a fridge and microwave, plus coffee and hot chocolate downstairs whenever we wanted. The only small downside was that the bed felt a bit too firm.

We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The place was spotless, the rooms were really clean, and the staff were pleasant and made eye contact. Our room was even ready before check-in time, which was a nice bonus. The Hilton app sent a notification when it became available, so checking in there worked well.

The Wi-Fi kept dropping every five minutes on all our devices. Staff said it was a known issue and that anyone needing a continuous connection should use the lobby Wi-Fi. That meant no streaming, Zoom calls, or listening to music reliably. I had to keep switching the Wi-Fi off and on and reconnecting. It felt like using hotel internet in the 1990s, and not in a good way.
