The room was clean and decent, and the location was handy, about four minutes from the Tahoe Blue event center in snowy conditions. The lake was probably just as close, though we didn't go there because of the snow. My wife found the bed too hard; I liked the firm mattress and pillow top. If you're after a clean place to sleep and don't mind rough edges, it does the job. The check-in setup was less appealing. Nobody was in the office, so we checked in by text, and there was an extra fee sent through Venmo to an account with a nonbusiness name. That fee appeared on the reservation confirmation email after we'd already paid, though that may not have been the hotel's fault. We were also given a single house-type key. Some of the upgrade work looked amateurish. The shower water ran away from the drain, with visible hills and valleys in the tile work, although the tile itself was a nice choice. The toilet wobbled, and dried glue made an uneven border about an inch wide around the entry tiles.

The room had a fridge and coffee machine, and there are lots of restaurants on the same block. Once parked, we didn't need to drive around town or to Heavenly. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Gondola at Heavenly, which made it a great base for a ski weekend. The heater and appliances were quiet, the bed and pillows were really comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. I also liked having check-in in person. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

For the affordable rate, we had no complaints. The place suited us fine, though you do need to text the number on the window to check in. During both days of our stay, nobody was in the office, but I didn't need anything, so it was okay. There was no room service or anyone coming by to take out the garbage during the day. If you're not particular about where you stay, it's a good option.

We got caught in a storm and had to find a room at the last minute. They replied quickly to chat, even late at night in the middle of all that chaos, and remote check-in and checkout with the key drop was so easy. I'm grateful we had somewhere to stay. It's a really affordable, fun hotel, and we'll come back.

The owners were really friendly, parking was easy, and the price was affordable for what you get. My room was big and had a fireplace. It's also an easy walk to a beach. I only wish there'd been a microwave in the room and a heavier blanket. Thanks for having us!
