Thunderchief Inn

The location was very convenient, within a ten-minute walk of the grocery store, restaurants, and the strip. The beds were made and clean, and we got clean towels. The room was mostly clean, but the floor was so sticky and dirty that we wore sandals the whole stay. The bathroom was tiny, especially the shower, and the broken shower door was hard to close. There was no AC, just two fans. Even with them running and the windows open, the room stayed hot and humid although it was cool and breezy outside. Only one of the three lamps worked. We paid over $300 for a room with three queen beds, and apart from the location, the inn wasn't worth that price.

We had a bad experience at this motel. It was very hot at night in July, with only a fan and no AC, and it smelled bad. A walkway light shone straight into the window. We couldn't close the curtains because the light could be turned off during the night, and it would then shine directly into the room. This is the worst motel. Don't try it.

The location was the one thing we liked. The sheets in both rooms, across all four beds, had blood and urine stains. My kids were so grossed out that they slept in their clothes, and there were no spare blankets for them to use instead. My husband and I may have had the only clean sheet in the whole hotel. Customer service was awful and rude. They offered no discount, but told my children they would refund us in full if we went somewhere else and didn’t post a bad review. My kids said we couldn’t leave because our parents were there and had paid.

The room was sweltering even with all the windows open. There was no AC, the bed was awful, and I had a hard time sleeping. The lamp shades were broken, the shower door wouldn’t close, and the cleaning had been poor. I needed to check in after midnight and stayed exactly eight hours, but was charged $160, or $193 with tax, because they said I had to pay for two nights. I couldn’t stay an extra night. Online rates showed $56, and even allowing for a 44% discount, I was still overcharged. When I tried to sort it out, the married couple who seemed to run the place only argued with me. I don’t usually post reviews, but this was a nightmare. I’d sleep in my car before staying here again.
