Zalanta, A Vail Resorts Property

For a quiet night's sleep, get a room facing the pool or the back of the property. Those rooms are much quieter, away from street noise and late-night partygoers. We didn’t hear anything from Highway 50. We loved Zalanta! I first booked a four-person stay at the Marriott Timber Lodge, but I’m so glad I switched through a private rental company. The difference was huge. The rooms were clean, modern, and well appointed, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the free gated parking and courtesy shuttle made everything easy.

We stayed at Zalanta Resort with friends, and it was a great base for our trip with kids. Right in the center of town, it’s an unbeatable location, within walking distance of the lake, shops, and even Target. The rooms were fantastic and had everything we needed, including a full kitchen for cooking and baking, plus a washer and dryer that was a huge lifesaver. Staff were incredibly generous and helpful around the clock. I highly recommend it for a comfortable, convenient luxury stay in Tahoe. We’ll be back!

For $13k for 10 days, I expected a lot more amenities. The Marriott across the street has a kids’ play area, game room, outdoor pingpong, pools, hot tub, and restaurants. Zalanta has a pool, hot tub, and gym, that’s it. We booked the 4/4 at Zalanta, and while the view is great, it’s right by the road. Light sleepers will hear cars through the night. With our family, I’d rather have the extra activities than just a newer room, so I won’t stay here again. We arrived before check-in and they couldn’t store our luggage, which was disappointing for the amount we spent. Lake Tahoe is beautiful, though, and I can’t wait to come back. The Marriott will get my business.

Thank you to Toni at the front desk for making my family’s vacation incredible! Zalanta was just right for our first Lake Tahoe trip with our two young kids, ages 9 and 5. I wasn’t sure which part of the lake would work best for children, but this location didn’t disappoint. Everything was within walking distance, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The pool and hot tub were well kept, clean, and spacious too. I highly recommend the Heavenly Gondola and the activities for young children. We spent about 5.5 hours at the top of the mountain doing them with our two kids. I didn’t buy the extra activities at first because of the price, but in the end, they were one of our favorite adventures together. Zalanta also offered discounted tickets for the Magic Fusion show, which was great for the kids and just a five-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel also shared information about the Camp Richardson Shuttle Service for a day at Emerald bay. I’m glad we took the shuttle with the kids and avoided the awful parking.
