It was a no-frills hotel, about what I expected. The room was mostly clean, with basic cable, and they didn’t advertise breakfast, so the lack of it wasn’t a surprise. The beds were a bit hard and the pillows flat. In 90-degree weather, the air conditioning took a while to cool things down. The bathroom door was damaged, and there was hair hanging from the ceiling over the shower. Parking was tight.

I’m in a tough spot after losing my home and my family, and I ride a bike about five miles to work while putting in 84-hour weeks. I’m tired and stressed, and I make mistakes like anyone. I forgot my key card five times in a week, and after my stay I was told I couldn’t come back. I tried to apologize, but the woman wouldn’t listen. I haven’t smoked in the room or caused trouble, and I don’t see a reason to treat someone that way. The place is comfortable and nice, though a little expensive, but the hospitality means I wouldn’t recommend it. They should be more considerate of what people might be going through, or at least more respectful.

They charged us twice at check-in, and when I tried to ask why, the front desk person kept cutting me off and wouldn’t let me speak. It was my wife, our daughter, and me, but we were given only two towels and half a roll of toilet paper. When we asked for more towels, we got attitude. The service was just horrible, and the room seemed cheaply put together. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless there’s no other choice.

My son and father-in-law traveled from Florida to Ashland, Kentucky, for the Rock the Country Mesic Festival, and I booked them a room for two nights at the closest hotel I could find to the fairgrounds. After a full day at the concert, they tried to check in and were met by a very rude, nasty female manager. The booking was under my name, though my son has the same name. She still refused to let them check in or change the name on the room. She wouldn’t take my call to authorize their stay, and also refused to rent them a room under their own names. Then, after denying them check-in, she charged my debit card a $140 cancellation fee. I called the next day to ask about it, but she wouldn’t hear my argument that there wouldn’t have been a cancellation if she’d let them stay, and she offered no help. She was nasty on the phone, too. The reviews suggest this isn’t the first time people have been ripped off. Stay away!
