The 1708 House

Breakfast was superb, and there were hammocks and places to relax. We stayed in Cottage 11 with a child, and it worked perfectly for our group. It’s worth every penny. You can get a pass for Cooper’s beach, and they lend beach towels and, if available, beach chairs. Parking is fee. Service was spectacular. Wi-Fi had a small issue, but the manager did her best to fix it and found a backup solution. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you!

Edgar gave us a wonderful tour of the home’s history and helped us out during our stay. The home itself is beautiful, and the beds are so comfortable. Everything is within easy walking distance, and they gave us great recommendations for places to eat. Highly recommend.

I travel regularly for work, and 1708 House is the only place I’ll stay in Southampton. It’s a gem in the Hamptons, a classic boutique bed and breakfast right in the middle of town. Every room is unique and tastefully decorated. I especially like Rooms 1 and 7. The attention to detail and customer service are outstanding, and all the little thoughtful touches make each visit easy and comfortable. The bathrooms are immaculately clean, the linens are quality and new, and they even provide travel toothpaste and toothbrushes. The HVAC is quiet, and the rooms are always at a perfect temperature. Breakfast and tea or happy hour spreads are lovely. Breakfast always includes fresh fruit, strong coffee, and fresh baked goods from Tate's Bake Shop, plus a chef to prepare hot items. The team is friendly and professional, and always checks that your stay is going well. I’ve tried several other places in Southampton, and this is THE place to stay out here!

We stayed this weekend for our 10th wedding anniversary, and the hospitality was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone working there was welcoming and kind. Afternoon wine, tea, and snacks were great, and breakfast the next morning was such fun: fresh and hot, with made-to-order omelets and fresh, locally made pastries. The grounds and building were amazing, and we loved sitting by the fireplace at night. We already miss this place.
