Candlewood Suites Memphis - Southaven by IHG

The property looked run down, with baseboard trim missing along the halls. Coming off the elevator on the top floor, we got a smell like a Mexican restaurant. The room was a little better, though it still reminded me of a recently cleaned bathroom. There was no coffee in the room, so waking up wasn’t pleasant. It was clean enough for one night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer. I’m disappointed in IHG for this location.

It smells like home when you walk in, and the rooms are extremely clean. The people here take pride in their work. I work the graveyard shift, and it’s so quiet in the mornings that sleeping feels like sleeping at night. From the first day, customer service has been immaculate. They know my name and have helped me right away, even when I felt like giving up. That means a lot to me. Everyone’s been awesome, from the corporate people and owners I’ve met to the front desk clerks, management, housekeepers, and ground man. They’re all so sweet. I have no complaints and will spend the rest of my work stay here. If you want a friendly, pleasant place that feels like home, come stay at candlewood. Best hotel in Southhaven, as far as I’m concerned.

Parking was the weak spot. Two cars were parked perpendicular behind me, and I couldn’t have gotten out if I’d been driving a full-size pickup or SUV. Otherwise, it was a comfortable overnight stay at a good price for an Extended Stay Hotel. Restaurants and shops are close, and getting onto I-55 is easy.

The heated pool was outstanding, and I enjoyed my one-night stay. Parking was a bit tight. There’s no breakfast, but near the front desk there’s a snack covy for sales and free hot chocolate.
