Super 8 by Wyndham Southaven

Room 214 had a roach crawling on the bed when I checked it, so they moved me to 202. That room had no roaches, but it was missing a lamp bulb and hair dryer, and there was no smart TV. The floor was dirty, just like the hallways, and the vending machines only take cash. The place was filthy overall, a nasty roach motel. You can find better for $90, I assure you.

During the night, guests in the next room made inappropriate noise. It was especially uncomfortable and embarrassing with our granddaughter staying with us. In the morning, the front desk attendant didn't greet us. While we were eating breakfast, she came over to throw trash in the nearby bin, gave us a rude look, and didn't even say good morning. This was disappointing and fell short of the comfort and professionalism we expected from a hotel.

We left within minutes of arriving and booked elsewhere, but the hotel refunded only $25.00 even though we didn't stay. The management's response was, "well we only charge $75/night". Our stay was on 11/06/25. The lobby and upstairs hall smelled like marijuana. In our non-smoking room, the sheets had burn holes and blood stains, and cleaning rags were left around the sink, making me wonder if cleaning was finished. The beds were super hard. Poorly run.

I picked this place because it was cheap and near my job site. Location and price were the only good things. On arrival, I'd already been charged for the room, even though Wyndham told me I wouldn't be charged before my stay. After check-in, I was charged another $125 and told the earlier charge would be canceled. I hope it is. At checkout they said they'd refund my $50 deposit, but there were actually two separate $50 deposit charges. Wyndham's booking email said I'd pay $68.72, but they charged me $75. The lobby smelled bad, and the hotel felt unsafe. A guy was passed out on the sidewalk by a side entrance that had been prevented from closing. The end doors, away from the main entrance, had locks engaged in a way that let anyone prop them open and enter. There was black mold in the bathroom, and breakfast was limited in a dim, uninviting area. I'll never stay here again.
