The main reason I wouldn’t recommend this place is cleanliness. We checked in June 4th and out June 8th. The first room had black mold on the shower head, red mold around the shower door frame, and rugs with recent looking stains that seemed not to have been cleaned. We asked to move and said we’d take the king we’d originally booked. The front desk man gave us another double queen, but it was worse and smelled like mildew. We then asked someone to inspect the next room before we went in, so no one would waste time. The third room’s bathroom was clean, so we accepted it, though later that evening we found a brown sticky substance by the window. We’d already dealt with so much that we stayed since the bathroom was mold free. On one day, the blackout curtain fell on us. Crystal the DM said she’d compensate us, but we never heard from her again and got nothing. Some staff weren’t rude, but others made us uncomfortable asking questions. I’d rate service a 2 because some people were kind.
The staff kept the pool attended, with towels available and the area in good shape. Breakfast was fresh and good too, thanks to a woman who was always looking after it. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful, and it was a great two night stay. We’re a family of five with three young boys, and the hotel was pretty close to both the Henry ford museum and Ford field. It’s right off the highway and near plenty of restaurants. We’ll stay here again when we’re in Detroit.
Brittany was wonderful at check-in, welcoming and very helpful. I want to mention this kindly: during our interaction, I noticed a breath odor that seemed like it might be related to a health or dental infection. I’m not saying that to be unkind, but thought management might want to support her with it. Her service was otherwise excellent. My boyfriend and I had a great stay. The room was very clean, the property was well maintained, and the hospitality was exceptional. Karen in breakfast was great, and we loved the biscuits and gravy.
The room was really clean and amazing. One pillow smelled strange, as if its case hadn’t been changed, but the other pillows were fresh. The shiny tub looked polished, and I liked the bathroom mirror that clicks on and off. I wish the room had a better coat rack, since the one in the cabinet was small, and more chairs. The front lobby’s rubber duck collection is stinky cute ❤️ It’s not a jeep 🤣 quack quack quack. I also loved the Happy New Year 2026 sign in the lobby. The pool was nice, but there’s no hot tub or spa, which I wish they had so I could relax. The washroom was out of order, so I couldn’t use it. Paint was worn off the benches and chairs, with steel showing through. Check-in and checkout staff were very friendly and respectful. Breakfast had some bad items: the bagel was hard as a rock, and the scrambled eggs tasted great but weren’t warm enough. Everything else tasted good. I felt uncomfortable with the woman working breakfast and cleaning tables. She kept looking at us and following us around the breakfast room.
The PTAC unit in Room 121 made a horrible, loud, strange noise every time it started. It kept waking me and my child all night, and getting rest was a nightmare. I hope maintenance checks that unit so future guests don’t have the same problem. I came away with mixed feelings because the hotel itself was very clean, and the front desk staff were welcoming and professional. Everything else was okay, but a room needs to be quiet enough to sleep in, and that noise ruined the stay.
