ECHO Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham Spartanburg

I’ve stayed here for a while and have seen the progress and hard work that goes into keeping the place tidy and worthwhile for guests. It’s the cleanest, most affordable, and most comfortable place I’ve been to. The front desk staff and manager are easy to talk to and go above and beyond to accommodate you. After cleaning, the place always smells great, with clean sheets and great rooms. I’ll keep choosing it time and again.

I liked that you need your room key to get into the hotel. That’s my only positive. We were there for 12 days, and our room wasn’t cleaned once, though the posted policy says it should be cleaned weekly. The garbage cans were tiny, and outside of the weekly cleaning we had to take our own garbage out. If you left it outside the door, they charged you. The dumpsters weren’t conveniently placed. For clean towels, you had to exchange them one for one, which I understand for an extended stay, but it could take 10 to 15 minutes to get one. Good luck finding anyone at the desk. They were always “away from the desk.” Once, a worker saw me as he was walking out the back and went outside to do whatever. The water pressure was bad, doors slammed whenever people left their rooms and woke us several times a night, and the internet kept freezing when we tried to watch Netflix. Though it was supposed to be non-smoking, the hallways consistently smelled of smoke and weed. There weren’t basic things like a coffee pot in the room, and you had to rent one. The staff weren’t very friendly. We won’t stay there again.

The hotel was quiet, respectable, and had a positive feel. The rooms were clean and orderly. We arrived late because of travel and needed an extended stay, and Matthew at the front desk was professional, patient, and agreeable. He helped us get a room very late and went above and beyond to find the type we’d requested. Very helpful, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

After driving six hours, I got to the hotel and was met by a rude woman at the front desk. They’d given away the type of room I booked and charged far more than I’d been quoted when I reserved. In the room, there was a dirty washcloth on the shower bar. I left two days early because of the staff’s rudeness and the smell of marijuana as soon as I stepped out of my room.
