Hopkins Ordinary Bed Breakfast and Ale Works

The beds were a happy surprise, incredibly comfortable, and the garden cottage had thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome, including good coffee and fresh milk for the next morning. We stayed Saturday with my husband and another couple after dinner at three blacksmiths. Downstairs, we liked the brewery’s range of beers and cocktails, especially the cozy, nicely styled room beside the pouring area. Breakfast was fantastic too. The chia pudding with pomegranate and toasted coconut, crepe, salad, and fresh fruit were all on point. My husband has food restrictions, and the staff went out of their way to make him something he could eat. I really appreciated the extra effort. Thanks for a great stay!

The breakfasts were delicious, the rooms warm, and there was nice outdoor seating. Kate, Olivia and Norman made us feel so welcome, and the brewery was fun too, try the lentil hummus. We booked Hopkins Ordinary because we had dinner reservations at Three Blacksmiths, but being close to dinner turned out to be a small part of the appeal. We’re leaving with wonderful memories.

The brewery is worth a stop, with its cozy fireplace, board games, and lively crowd. I stayed at Hopkins Ordinary in the fall and found it perfectly placed in downtown Sperryville, convenient for Shenandoah. Katie and Olivia are welcoming, knowledgeable owners, and Norman, their lovely dog, adds to the homey B&B feel. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

Olivia and Katie, the new owners, are sweet and very responsive. The B&B is ideally placed for visiting Shenandoah National Park and The Inn at Little Washington. Make time for breakfast while you're there, it was delicious.
