Brush Mountain Lodge

The mountain and the land around the property look amazing, and the seclusion makes for a magnificent view. There’s plenty of room inside too, with a big common parlor that could handle parties, committee gatherings, or business meetings. I could see a whole wedding party fitting here, though you’d need to move some of the luxuries around to make space for a band and dancing. The porch is ready for almost anything, with a full kitchen and loads of room to prepare whatever you can imagine. The rooms are beautifully designed for people who like being indoors, and they have TVs. Absolutely the place to get away from home. Enjoy!

I invited 17 dear friends to Brush Mountain Lodge for an autumn potluck, after winning a raffle prize that benefited Penns Valley Conservation Association’s Environmental Education programming. The owners, who are kind and generous, are known for donating use of the lodge to charitable events. Before the gathering, Eric invited me to tour the place. Shannon, the building and operations manager, welcomed me and walked me through the amenities. The kitchen had everything I needed to host, including state of the art appliances, plenty of pots and pans, dinner service, glassware, and cutlery. The package also included an overnight stay for up to four guests, with a choice of lovely, clean, comfortable bedrooms. Each had a private bath and a view of the natural surroundings, and the rooms are spread across the first, second, and third floors. The lodge is three levels tall and full of natural light from its many windows. There are three fireplaces, including one outside on the wrap-around deck, which looks over the valley. From the other side, you can see and hear water gently running over the mountain rock garden. Set in the woods atop a mountain, the lodge has a strong architectural presence and artistic interior design that still makes room for intimate spaces. The website photos give you a feel for its natural beauty, but seeing it in person is something else. It’s a special, unique place for making lasting memories. Penn State is about a 30-minute drive through the countryside. The hosts are warm, and the view is great. It’s a beautiful place, with fireplaces on every floor, king beds, and Jacuzzi tubs. I’d highly recommend it.

The views were beautiful, and all the rooms were clean and very well cared for. We held my daughter's wedding here, with the reception afterward, and it was a great place for both. I’d recommend it to anyone.
