Holiday Inn Express

The breakfast was fine, and the kitchen staff were quick about keeping everything filled. The hotel was clean, too. But our group of four women expected two queen beds and got two doubles instead, which was not good. The woman at the front desk said the larger rooms were reserved for IHG members, even though two of us were members. Also, the girl at check-in last Saturday was very unpleasant. I won’t stay here again.

The room was clean, the overnight staff were nice, and the breakfast service was beyond awesome. They even had a machine that makes pancakes, which was neat. Cookies were set out in the lobby for whoever got there first, and I believe coffee and tea were available there around the clock. It’s pet friendly, and Old Country Buffet is nearby.

The front desk deserves five stars, and the free morning breakfast was a nice perk. The beds were comfortable, and having a pull-out sofa helped. Our room was spacious, although the bathroom felt cramped and the TV was small. The place needs updating, with some cosmetic issues that should be addressed, especially for a Holiday Inn. That’s why I’m giving it four stars.

Barbara, the Regional Manager, made the planning process much less stressful. I mostly worked with her while booking and setting aside rooms, and she was helpful, accommodating, fantastic, and pretty funny. Tanya, one of the hotel managers, was also involved, and the service from both was great. A few complications came up along the way, but Barbara took the stress out of it. I can’t say enough good things about her. We’d had a hard time finding a reasonably priced, pet-friendly hotel near our wedding venue, so finding the Holiday Inn was a relief. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff were great, the food tasted good, and the location was convenient to a lot nearby. I’d recommend staying here, and we’d come back if we needed to.
