AC Hotel St. Augustine Downtown

One detail that caught people off guard was the breakfast bar. It's not included in the hotel price, and costs $18 per person. The charge was mentioned in small print on the menu, but several guests seemed to think breakfast was free. The hotel should make the price clearer with a sign. We would stay again, though, and next time I'll bring my bathing suit for the heated pool. The hotel had only been open four months during our stay. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and the staff were friendly.

We've visited St. Augustine many times and stayed at several Marriotts and Hiltons. This hotel is now our go-to. It was peaceful and relaxing, with an immaculate room and a great front desk team. The hotel also felt very secure, which gave us peace of mind. There was even a chewable ice machine on our floor, something I'd never seen before and a great amenity. Perfect stay. Awesome hotel, book it.

The bathroom setup was the main problem for us. Its frosted glass sliding door doesn't lock, and from some angles you can see inside. That could be awkward with kids around or if someone opens the door without realizing. Sounds carry through the glass, and at night bathroom light fills the whole room. A heavy, sharp metal cover over the sliding door rail fell off, making a loud noise that made us think the door had come down. Thankfully no one was hurt, but the door definitely needs attention. There also aren't any microwaves available for guests. Those issues hold the hotel back, though it has plenty going for it. It's a very nice new hotel, with friendly, attentive staff, a great price, and a convenient location near a trolley stop and an easy walk from historic downtown. The rooms have a modern design.

The staff were top notch, helpful with every question, and guest service was excellent. The hotel itself is beautiful, and parking here is easy, so there's no need to circle around looking for a spot. It's a brand new hotel in the heart of St. Augustine, just a few blocks' walk from downtown markets. They're still building out the outdoor areas and a boat dock by the water. It looks like the view will be amazing once it's finished.
