Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection

Jewel turned a check-in mix-up, which wasn't the hotel's fault, into a much better experience. She went out of her way to help us sort it out, and since it was my birthday, she made me feel welcome and celebrated right away. Her service was amazing.

We could walk everywhere from this hotel, from restaurants and shops to the attractions, and we really enjoyed our first visit to St. Augustine. My fiancé booked our stay, and I think this is one of the area's oldest hotels. There's a lot of history, but it's in excellent shape. Valet parking was easy, the staff were friendly and professional, and our room was extremely clean. The bed was surprisingly comfortable too. Hotel beds often bother my back, but I had no trouble sleeping here. It was an unforgettable trip, and I hope we can come back soon.

The hotel is beautiful and in an excellent location, but our Valentine’s getaway has been anything but peaceful. The noise has been constant: children in the room next door scream and bang against the wall so hard our headboard moves, adults across the hall yell and laugh late into the night, and dogs bark in the hallways. We've barely been able to rest. We chose a place marketed as one of St. Augustine's best spa resorts expecting a quiet, relaxing stay. When we raised the noise with staff, they said they couldn't control children and couldn't move us to a quieter room. That was discouraging, since we were clearly being disturbed and hoped they'd try to help. On top of everything, the internet isn't working. This has been one of our least relaxing hotel stays.

The staff were pleasant and very helpful, and the location near Old downtown St Augustine is fantastic. You can walk everywhere, and having a Starbucks in the lobby is a plus. Parking felt a little awkward, but the valets handled it. I prefer to have control of my own car, though valet was the only option.
