Castillo Inn

The hotel's location was the only good part of our stay. The pictures on Hotel.com don't represent the property at all. Our room was dirty, the bed hadn't been made, the garbage can was full, and there was a toenail on the white sheets that poked my back when I lay down. I know I should have gone to the office to report it, but after driving five hours I just wanted to rest. I paid almost $200 for one night and wish I could get my money back.

The location was the only good thing. The room and sheets were dirty, and management didn't care when we complained. We had to clean the room ourselves and buy our own sheets and pillows. The A/C was filthy too. My wife has allergies, so we had to leave in the middle of the night. Don't stay here if you have a weak immune system.

My kid and their friends stayed here December 26-28, 2025, and were disappointed, especially for over $200 a night. After spending the day exploring town and seeing the Christmas lights, they returned to find that the hotel had sold their parking spot by the room. Then they noticed a horrible sewage smell, with water coming from the room next door. It followed them into their room, and the water in the bathtub looked and smelled like sewage. They asked to change rooms but were told there were none available at the Inn. The only offer was a refund for one night if they left. Nobody offered to help find another hotel or make any extra effort to sort things out. It was a horrible experience.

I've never stayed in a more disgusting hotel. We paid around $130 for one night, but knowing what the room was like, I'd say it was worth $30 at most. It didn't look like it had been cleaned before we arrived. The bed was made, but the fitted sheet was inside out. A broken hanger was on the shelves, and a used washcloth hung from the shower rod. The shower was wet, as if someone had just used it, and bugs were flying around the bathroom. There were urine stains on the bathroom wall, dirt across the floor, a cracked bathroom window, and a strange substance spilled in the mini fridge. The door doesn't shut all the way. This was a complete mess, and $130 is far too much for a room in this condition. It doesn't seem to have been properly cleaned in ages. Don't waste your money.
