Courtyard St. Augustine Beach

The desk clerk was a gentleman and did a great job. The lobby, shared areas, and parking lot were all very clean, and the rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Most of the hallway and neighboring room noise seemed to be dampened, so we barely heard it. It's an impressive hotel in many ways, and we'd likely stay here again if we're in the area.

I stayed in room 446 from December 23 to December 26, and this has been an extremely disappointing, unacceptable experience for a hotel under the well-known Marriott brand. On the drive back to West Palm Beach after checkout, I realized I'd left personal items in the closet: two brand-new blue Perry Ellis shirts, a beige pair of pants, and two white women’s jackets. Since then I've called every day trying to get them back. I've been kept on hold for long stretches, transferred repeatedly to voicemail, or told I'd be connected to the front desk only to end up at another voicemail. Nobody followed up or took responsibility. After days of this, I was finally told the items were “not found” and nothing could be done. When I asked if I was just going to lose my belongings, the call was abruptly disconnected. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic respect for guests is shocking. I shouldn't have to deal with endless transfers and being dismissed, especially at a hotel operating under the Marriott name. I can't recommend this property based on what happened, and strongly urge management and corporate offices to review how they handle lost-and-found cases and guest communication.

The room itself was up to date, and the beach is directly across the street. The Obi burger joint nearby is really good and a great price. But the cleanliness was underwhelming: there were several kinds of hair in the shower, on the bathroom floor, and around the toilet base. The same obvious debris stayed in the hallways during all three days of our visit. Maybe the room hygiene was a hiccup. We have to come back for work next month, so I'll rate it again then. For now, I hope they step things up a bit.

The location was great, and the rooms were clean. The hotel and rooms were lovely, and the staff were super friendly, but a few things got in the way of the stay. Water wouldn't drain in either the sink or shower. We were only there two nights, so we didn't complain. The TV reception was awful, sometimes with no channels and other times only a few. The Starbucks in the hotel listed about 15 breakfast foods, but only 1-2 were actually available each day. They also don't offer daily room cleaning. I know that's the "norm" since COVID, but it really takes away from the guest experience when rates haven't gone down to reflect the lack of service.
