Days Inn by Wyndham St. Augustine I-95/Outlet Mall

I had an easy, efficient check-in with a very nice and polite afternoon clerk. My room was clean and practical, housekeeping did a great job, and the beds were very pleasant, quite firm but still soft. The hot water was great, and the hotel was quiet, with plenty of parking and good lighting. The location was convenient for tourist spots, and it was easy to get an Uber. The morning clerk was very nice when I checked out, too. My only issue was the IHOP next door. I went there last night, and the service wasn’t good. The tables, glasses, and silverware were dirty. The waiter dropped a dirty napkin on my cutlery and asked me to hand it to him. They didn’t replace the cutlery or apologize, lol. The food was great, though.

The location and service were great, but I hated how filthy the rooms were. My mom booked three rooms. Thankfully, she said her two were good, though I thought she got a room on the side that’s more used. Our room 160 was disgusting. A baby roach crawled on the wall as we walked in. There were cobwebs and someone’s sock under the beds, stained sheets, and people’s hair on the sheets, floor, and bathtub. In the crevices of all three rooms, we found black mold and hair. I’ve added a photo. We tried calling, but the phone didn’t work, so I called from my cell. Like other reviewers, we were sent someone. They said stained sheets were normal because the stains don’t come out. Ummmm what? We were then shown another room, I believe 157. The moment we walked in to check, there was a German roach crawling up the bathroom wall, plus hair, and the room’s chairs were stained and extremely dirty. I was so grossed out and hated the place. The cleaner said roaches were normal because they had sprayed. I’m sorry, who wants to sleep with roaches, with two little kids or even without kids? They said they’d refund us, but after traveling for hours we had no way to find somewhere else at 10 p.m. The third room, 141, was okay, but the floors were gross and the shower had other people’s hair. There weren’t roaches that time, but we were told they didn’t have any on that side, and one magically appeared. I’d skip the pre-check-in they send. It’s a waste of time: we still had to sign documents, and they told us it doesn’t guarantee rooms because it’s first come, first served. I don’t know how that makes sense when I’d done the pre-check-in, provided everything, and called to confirm our rooms would be next to each other. It really was a waste of time. I’ll never stay there again!

We had a great weekend without breaking the bank. The room was very affordable, clean, and the bed was firm, clean, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and dining options nearby were plentiful and affordable. You can easily walk to the outlet mall, and the hotel is close to I-95 and relatively close to the major attractions.

This is our go-to place when we come to fl. It’s centrally located, clean, quiet, comfortable, and doesn’t break the bank. The older gentleman at the front is always kind and helpful, no matter what time we arrive.
