The view from the terrace was gorgeous and so peaceful, even though old town and the marina are just a short walk across the bridge. We only had one night and wished we could stay longer. The room was great, with a comfy bed and pillows and a fridge and coffee maker. We arrived at 1pm and asked to leave the car while we explored. Sue was great about letting us park and gave us our key so we could go straight to the room later that evening. Breakfast was delicious, egg quiche, fresh fruit, cereal, and bread and bagels for toasting. The coffee was tasty too, and I enjoyed a takeaway cup on the terrace before leaving, where we spotted dolphins and herons. Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

We saw dolphins every day from this spot right on the water, looking toward historic St. Augustine. The location is hard to beat: cross the bridge and you’re in downtown. We were told manatees are sometimes seen there too, though it was too cold for them during our visit. There’s an evening social hour with wine, juice, and light appetizers like cheese, meats, and dips. Breakfast was lovely, and the casserole was amazing. I enjoyed the lobby view while eating. The rooms have an old Florida feel and aren’t the newest, but they were clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. Outside lights came through at night, so curtains would help. I mentioned it to Tara after the first night, and she gave me something to cover the windows. Tara looked after us throughout the stay, along with Rick, Ronnie, and Sarah. The staff made sure we had what we needed and went above and beyond. There’s nothing fancy here, but the hospitality made our stay wonderful. We’ll be back to Edgewater Inn!

Coffee on the back deck overlooking the water was a lovely way to watch the wildlife. The city view is perfect, and our stay felt peaceful and restful. This charming little place at the foot of the Bridge of Lions has Old Florida character, with updated, comfortable interiors. Everything was clean, and breakfast was included each morning. It’s an easy walk across the bridge to the historic city.

The sunsets over "Old Town" St. Augustine and the views were stunning. We enjoyed our one night, and those views made up for the mobility problems we ran into. I’m an amputee still learning to walk with a prosthetic, so getting around was difficult. Our room entrance had two steps, and I was glad there were handrails, though the steps were still hard. The bathroom had no grab bars or shower chair, which made showering impossible. It looked like they may be updating things, so that could change in the future.

I’d had the Edgewater on my bucket list for ages and now wonder why I waited. The room was spacious and spotless, the view was the best in St Augustine, and the atmosphere was completely relaxed. Happy hour was charming and low key, and breakfast was delicious. I even got the egg casserole recipe to try making at home. I plan to stay every year, and really think people should visit this place before it disappears like so many old school treasures.
