Hampton Inn & Suites St. Augustine-Vilano Beach

We felt safe, comfortable, and well looked after throughout our stay. The facility was clean and well maintained, and the gated parking was a real plus. Our third-floor Ocean View room had a balcony with a great view. Check-in was especially good: Jen (the General MGR) and JC listened to what we needed and actively helped find the best room. They were cheerful, proactive, and caring, which was very welcome and doesn’t feel like the norm at hotels anymore. Thanks for being such great people. If you’re in St. Augustine, stay here.

Beach, restaurants, and Publix are all within walking distance, and the rooms are huge. The pool and hottub feel private, and parking is easy enough. We visit St. Augustine and Vilano Beach several times a year, and this is our new spot. Highly recommend!

We like stopping here when we head north from south Florida. The hotel’s location is the main draw for us, with the beach and great restaurants only steps away. We also love sitting on the balcony for the salt air and beach views. The rooms and service are excellent, and I highly recommend the hotel.

The room was clean, and housekeeping did an adequate job during our stay. Beyond that, the experience did not justify the price. Customer service lacked friendliness and empathy and offered no real answers to important problems. Breakfast had very little variety for the cost of the stay. Parking was $16 a night, and the lot was completely dark, which made it feel unnecessarily unsafe. Most troubling, we had cold showers for three nights in a row. When we complained, Customer Service said the hotel only had two water heaters and that we should avoid “peak hours,” but they couldn’t say when those hours were. Guests paying high rates shouldn’t have to work around the hotel’s operating problems just to get hot water. We booked two rooms for four nights, nearly $2,000 in total, so we expected much better service, comfort, and attention. The value for money was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless they improve customer service and fix basic issues like the hot water.
