Hilton Vacation Club St. Augustine

Very disappointing stay at the golf village. We booked through Expedia, as I have for years, but nobody told us the pool was out of service or that it was closed. When I asked at the desk, the woman basically said we'd booked through a third party and there was nothing they could do. We came with family expecting to use the amenities, so that was a letdown. The woman who gave us the parking pass, though, was extremely friendly. The rooms are outdated, had a funky smell, and the shower pressure was terrible. The sheets were filthy, as shown in the picture below. This wasn't what I expected.

The customer service was horrible. Check-in was the worst I've experienced, they never answer the phone, and employees were rude and snappy. Pressure washing was going on right in front of our room door when we arrived, with towels in the way, and the worker continued late into the night. They didn't care that we had a baby trying to sleep. You can hear the neighbors above you WELL, and construction is happening all over the resort. If you're after a quiet, relaxing stay, this isn't it. Work starts at 8am SHARP.

We spent a week here and had a wonderful stay. Being right on the golf course was lovely, and there were activities every day. The pool and hot tub area were well maintained, and we could use the grills to cook. Basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts are close by too. I'd be happy to stay here again if we need to.

This place will always be special to me because I got engaged at the pier, where you can feed the ducks and turtles. I love walking around here and seeing nature at work, from butterflies and eagles to other birds I don't know and even a bunny. A few times we watched birds successfully catch fish, which was awesome. Thanks for the cookies, tea, and coffee!
