Island House D222

We stayed in Island House G234 and loved how well kept the condo development is. The pool was fabulous, and the beach is only a five-minute walk away. We watched the sun rise over the ocean every morning. The condo was beautiful, the amenities were great, and we were very happy there. We didn't want to leave.

The complex itself is excellent, with well-kept common areas, a great pool, lovely beach views, and wonderful beach access. But after a week in unit A211, we were disappointed with the condo. The master bedroom had bugs, and the stained carpet and secondhand-store mix of furniture made a poor first impression. The doors and windows also seemed neglected, which felt like a lack of care from the owner. It's a shame to see a unit in such a great location and with such good shared amenities get so run down. Island House is great, but I'd look for a different unit than A211.

My in-laws bought their condo here in the early 70s, and we've been coming to the beach ever since. Beautiful, historic St. Augustine never gets old.

There's lots of space and you're right on the beach, with shuffleboard, tennis, and racquetball. The tennis and shuffleboard courts could use some care but are still usable. I didn't use or check out the racquetball court. The pool is a great size, though it isn't heated, which matters if you come in the winter.
