Magic Beach Motel

The only upside was being so close to the beautiful beach. The room itself was filthy, from the walls and floors to the tables and beds. There was makeup on the pillowcases and hair in the sinks, and I felt dirty the entire time. The AC only worked in one room. It was a window unit, so we couldn’t close the curtains and still get air. We finally couldn’t stand it and left for home at 10 pm. This place was a dump, like a disgusting gas station bathroom.

Magic Beach has the kind of character and history I wish more places kept. We had a relaxing, charming stay, with excellent service and a spacious, very clean room.

We had eight rooms’ worth of family here for my wedding weekend, and Champayne and Kalpash went above and beyond. Their customer service was top tier. The rooms were clean, and the motel’s architecture and room murals are beautiful. I’d especially recommend the king room with an ocean view. It has a beautiful wraparound balcony.

The hotel itself was average and the staff were generally courteous, but the spa was a deeply disappointing part of our vacation. It was poorly equipped and seemed to be missing basic supplies. What should have been relaxing turned frustrating because the service felt unprepared and unprofessional. When I raised the problem, management was rude and hostile instead of apologizing or trying to help. Their dismissive response was shocking and out of line for a hospitality business. I left feeling more stressed than when I arrived. The hotel should take another look at its spa service and train management in customer care and handling complaints. Until those problems are addressed, I can’t recommend the property, especially to anyone hoping to use the spa.
