Spark by Hilton St. Augustine I 95

We got a roomy room and a nice breakfast. Lobby coffee was delicious at breakfast, though it wasn't hot at other times of day. The shower pressure was weak and the water never got very hot. The price was good for what we got, even though it was inflated during "Nights of Lights".

The staff were friendly, but didn't go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The breakfast room is too small and was packed by the time we got there. In our room, the toilet tank wouldn't refill properly, and the shower dial took force to operate. We stayed one night while passing through and wouldn't return. To me, this doesn't meet Hilton standards. It's an old hotel building taken over by the Spark brand, and the building and amenities show their age. This place isn't a credit to the Hilton brand.

The beds were clean and comfortable, but the rest of the hotel feels very low quality and doesn't live up to the Hilton name. The walls are paper thin, and if your room is on the first floor, you may not sleep at all. Avoid this place if there are any other options.

My wife and I stayed at the Sparks by Hilton Hotel I-95, St Augustine, October 11-12. We had planned four days, but cut the stay short by two because red ants were on the bed and in the bathroom. There isn't much in the way of amenities, including no table to work at if you have a computer, and breakfast is very limited. At checkout, I was surprised to find the first night's charge had doubled. I believe it was because I cancelled part of the stay. The low price isn't worth it, so find somewhere better. This is the Hilton Motel 6!
