St Augustine Getaway < 1 Mi to Historic Downtown!

We got a wonderful short stay in this rainy paradise at a hidden gem that offers tremendous value for its quality. The rooms were clean and modern, without the sweaty feel you get in some lower-end beachside motels. The owner clearly cares. He let us check in after hours, showed us to the room himself, and made sure everything was in perfect condition.

St. George street is within walking distance, and Sarbez next door had live music and great food. For a budget stay, Historic Inn is a solid choice. I came in with concerns from older reviews and was still unsure when I first pulled up, but it turned out to be very nice for a budget option. The room was clean and quiet, though I saw ghost ants at the sink on multiple occasions. They weren't there the whole time. The sheets were fine, but the comforter felt old.

The location worked perfectly for our anniversary, close to both the beach and downtown while still feeling peaceful away from Historic St. Augustine traffic. It's only a 10-minute walk over the bridge. Our unit was spacious, nicely decorated, spotless, and well stocked with a Keurig, coffee, bottled water, mini fridge, and toiletries. Free parking was included too. The owners and staff were very welcoming and even walked us to our room. Everything was as described, and this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable motel we've stayed in. We really enjoyed our time at the Historic Inn and would highly recommend it. Looking forward to coming back!

The volunteers running the parking center shuttle made getting to and from the Wilco concert easy, and the whole setup worked smoothly. I was glad to tip them. I stayed at the Historic Inn for the show, and both the cigar bar and restaurant across the street welcomed me like a local. The Inn itself was comfortable and full of charm. St. Augustine’s friendly feel made this a trip I won’t forget. I’d love to come back.
