St. Augustine Island Inn

The staff were welcoming and genuinely helpful the whole time, and the hotel was spotless and well cared for. Its spot on A1A made it easy to get to everything we wanted while still feeling relaxed. We had a great stay and would happily return. Next time we’re in Saint Augustine, this will be our go-to. Highly recommend.

The couple who run the hotel were so kind and accommodating to our group during our five nights there. We knew beforehand that it was an older property, so that was as expected. Both the rooms and the grounds were clean. Beach access was just one block away, and the island's local restaurants were close by. We’d definitely come back.

I own a local business in St. Augustine and needed a weeklong stay while we looked for a house to buy. I already knew the owners from my retail store, so I chose to stay here. We only lasted three days. After a terrible time and disturbing conversations, we left. I won’t go into the details here, but sort the reviews by newest and read them. Other guests’ accounts are accurate. Leaving didn’t end it. They’re still texting our numbers, claiming we may have smoked in the room and trying to find a way to charge us. That’s a blatant lie and a cheap scam tactic we already recognized. I told them to stop because the endless messages after we’d left felt like harassment. These people will drive you insane until you agree to be charged just to get your freedom back. I had no idea what tourists in St. Augustine were going through at this hotel.

We escaped to another hotel and didn’t even ask for a refund for the nights we didn’t stay. Thank God we could leave. The place was unbelievably awful: rude people who spoke to guests like they hated them, stains, bugs, and a dirty environment. There was no privacy. They’d call with pointless questions as early as 7 am, come into the room even with a “do not disturb” sign on the door, and pile on endless “extras” if you ever gave them your card details. All we wanted was to be left alone, but there was no chance. Terrible hotel and terrible people.
