The Pirate Haus Inn

With five kids, we've been coming to the Pirate Haus for years, and we adore it. The fun rooms and pancake breakfast are favorites, as is stepping right outside into all the action in St Augustine. We recommend it to everyone we know. Give it a try, you won't be sorry!

Jenny's hospitality made the creaky, cozy old building worth every gold doubloon. She made it feel like staying with warm, welcoming family from out of town, right down to pancake breakfasts and the best collection of coffee mugs I've seen. I had a great time as a solo adult, even though the place seems more geared toward families and kids. It was fun and unlike what I'm used to, and I'm so glad I booked. It's advertised as budget, so don't expect luxury. I couldn't have been happier, twelve out of ten.

The inn was nice and everything was within walking distance. Just know that check-in and all the rooms involve stairs, with no elevator. There's no TV in the rooms, though there is a shared family room. Breakfast is pancakes only, no buffet, but the pancakes were good.

The Pirate Haus Inn is a cozy, fun, unusual place to stay in St. Augustine, just a short walk from nearly everything in town. My family loved it and already wants to return in the fall. Captain Jenny took good care of our crew of four, welcoming us warmly and making great pancakes. We enjoyed wandering the halls and looking at the playful collection of pirate things. It's a building over 100 years old, so expect to carry your bags up a fairly steep flight of stairs, and make sure you know where to park. Those are small tradeoffs for the experience. If you expect a lavish hotel and immaculate turn-down service, lower your expectations or choose a high-end place in town. I highly recommend The Pirate Haus Inn for a trip to St. Augustine.
