Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, St. Cloud East, MN

We were turned away when we arrived because they don't accept St Cloud residents, with no warning before the trip. I booked through booking.com, and more than a month later I'm still waiting for my refund. booking.com has been helpful and has contacted management several times, but the refund still hasn't been approved. Update 11/24: Six weeks on, there's still no refund because the property manager hasn't approved it, despite repeated requests to booking.com. Customer service has been terrible from the moment we were refused at check-in. This hotel clearly isn't equipped to handle the extra responsibility that comes with taking bookings through a third party like booking.com. By far the worst hotel experience I've had. Avoid it.

During my six-day stay, no one once came to tend the room, and I had to wait for towels and toilet paper before eventually fetching them myself. Getting service at the desk was its own hassle: I sometimes sat there for 25 minutes, and staff didn't seem to attend to it. The keys demagnetized four times a day. I asked twice for a new one, but they scoffed and kept remagnetizing the same key, saying that's just what happens. The Wi-Fi was horrible, the cable service was terrible, and the fitness room was laughable.

I'm 18, and this was one of my first times booking a hotel as an adult. I'm very disappointed. The room I'd booked hadn't been cleaned. There were alcoholic drinks in the fridge, and hair all over the shower, toilet and sink, as well as in the sheets. It looked like nothing had been cleaned properly, maybe not at all. When we told the employees, they said we had to bring the drinks to them ourselves. They also said there were no other rooms, even though it was Sunday night. They gave us one pillow and blankets with a sheet, and told us we could fix it ourselves if we wanted. The only other help was about $20 off a $200 stay. We could hear through the walls all night. If the company sees this, I have photos.

Micheal was rude to all the kids staying there, even those just playing games on their phones in the lobby. He kicked kids out of the pool area for having candy without warning them or asking them to put it away. He acted like simple requests were an inconvenience, and was so abrasive with my wife and kids that my two youngest were afraid and creeped out by him and wouldn't go near the lobby. He seems to be on a huge power trip. Tammy, the manager, backed up his behavior and was just as bad. If you're a family or a team with kids, I'd avoid this hotel. It's not kid or family friendly.
