Comfort Inn at Convention Center

I make a point of stopping here on my way north out of California and on the return trip. The big lot works well for trucks and trailers, and Culver's is an easy walk away. The rooms have always been spotless, well arranged, and just right, and the staff are helpful. My one gripe is the limited TV channel lineup. I've noticed higher-end hotels can have even less TV service, though.

Breakfast on Friday was one of the best we've had at this kind of hotel: hash browns, properly cooked bacon, sausage, eggs with toppings, waffles, oatmeal, bagels, cereal, fruit, and more. The place is in a great spot, and the staff were so friendly. Our room was very clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, a mini fridge and microwave. The shower got nice and hot and had great pressure. There was a pool plus two hot tubs or spas, one inside and one outside, which were really nice.

Breakfast was decent, and that's about the only good thing I can say. The third-floor hallway reeked like someone had pooped on the carpet, and the odor was still there the morning I left. There was mold all around the toilet lid. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, with no mattress protection, and the padded topper didn't even fit. It came with four tiny cube pillows too. A regular-sized pillow would've been nice. The price may be low, but the savings aren't worth it.

The pool and hot tubs were great, and the location worked perfectly. Breakfast was really nice too. What stood out most was the first-class service. Yolanda, the GM, is top class, always friendly and attentive to the details. No complaints from me.
