Dixie Palms Motel

The rooms are small, a little quaint, and furnished in an older style, but they have character. I especially liked the fortress-like showers. The people here are friendly and accommodating, and it’s usually full, which makes sense. It feels homey for a night on the road and is a great value, motel 6 pricing for a place worth more. The property is older, but they work hard to keep it in good shape.

After a week traveling around the West, this was the friendliest overnight stop we found. The owner is very nice, and when she was worried about our check-in time, she texted to ask when we’d arrive. She said to ring the bell if we came after closing and she’d wake up to let us in. Our room was clean, the AC worked, and the king bed was comfortable. We slept right through the night. What else do you need?

The location is handy for exploring, shopping, and finding good food, and the property is lovely. I liked the rooms and thought the decor was well done. The staff were incredibly hospitable. Both the room and grounds were clean, and it was super quiet at night. I’m looking forward to another stay.

We got one of the two-room options for a great price, the same as a single room at a bigger chain, and there was lots of space. Each room had an AC unit that worked well. We could hear the noisy neighbors only when we stepped outside. The people running the hotel were kind and considerate too.
