The beach has lots of seating, and it's handy that the door opens out toward the lake. Beds and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, and the rooms looked and smelled clean. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were helpful and nice. There are problems that need attention. The breakfast area is cramped, as though a regular room had been repurposed for it. Paint is peeling throughout the pool area and sticks to your feet, and it's all over the pool bottom too. In the halls and rooms, large floor spots flex underfoot. The hotel has potential, but needs care and better management to get it up to standard.

Check-in was quick, and the room was clean and pleasant, though the bathroom was small. There is coin laundry and lots of parking. The pool and hot tubs were clean, but old, and the areas around them need paint. The gym is basically a closet with five old pieces of equipment, not useful in my opinion. The sauna is very old and took an hour to warm up.

I come here to unwind and unplug, and I've always had a good time. We visit often, and it's my favorite place to stay when we're up north. The lake views and sunrises are beautiful, the beach is nice, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and freshly remodeled. I've noticed improvements each time we've been back. Breakfast has also gotten better over the last few years. There's a large pool, two hot tubs, and a sauna. On the beach there are chairs, picnic tables, fire pits, corn hole, kayaks, tetherball, and a small pavilion. Shuttle service goes to the casino and ferry, and each person gets free casino credits per day. I don't know if it's a chain, but it feels like a mom-and-pop place. I think the price is worth every penny, though I don't want the rates to go up.

Our room was right on the lake, with sliding glass doors opening onto a patio. The pool and hot tub were great, and I loved having a free shuttle to the ferry and casino.

The front desk staff are wonderful. Some updates would help with the noise from doors slamming. Maybe slow-closing doors would do it.
