My Place Hotel St Joseph MO

It still has that new feel since the hotel is only about a year old. The decor is simple but modern, and the price was budget friendly, though breakfast isn’t offered. The room was very clean, and the front desk woman who checked me in was friendly and welcoming. I’d happily stay here again.

I chose this hotel because it was new when work sent me to St. Joe. That was a mistake. I travel for work and stay somewhere different every week, and on checkout morning I found a bed bug crawling on the mattress. I took a picture and told the staff. They said the manager, Amy Jo, would call, but I never heard from her. I had to miss a day of work and spend $100 replacing the pillow and blanket I left behind. There was no way I could take them home. I don’t recommend this hotel and won’t stay there again.

After driving all afternoon, we checked in late and got a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the hotel was pet friendly. She made sure we were close to the stairs so taking our dog outside would be easy. We’d definitely stay again.

At check-in, there was never anyone at the front desk. The pet smell in our room was so strong the first night that I couldn’t sleep and got a headache and nausea. People bringing pets let them sleep on the beds and everything, so pet friendly rooms should be in a separate part of the hotel. A woman next door also had a huge dog barking in the hallway and disturbing the peace. The shower needs grab bars because I nearly slipped and fell. My son asked for more towels but was told no, so he had to use a hand towel. There was only one luggage cart, and I had to wait 20 minutes to use it after checkout. That delayed us about 40 minutes while loading.
