Courtyard St. Louis Downtown/Convention Center

We walked to most places from this convenient location. The neighborhood felt lively and interesting, with good restaurants an easy walk away. Parking options include a garage a block away for $40 a day, plus street and lot parking if you’re comfortable leaving your car there. The building is historic and lovely, and the lobby elevators hint at St. Louis’s past grandeur. Staff and valet were gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable. We gathered at the downstairs bistro for drinks and snacks several evenings, and some of us watched a game in the TV area, which felt like a living room. My daughter and I shared a large queen room. It was well appointed, with comfortable beds and an updated bathroom that kept some of its old elegance. I wish the kitchen nook had a microwave for leftovers. The bed setup was a bit awkward too: even at 5 1/2 feet tall, I had to pull the bedding out from the bottom to get enough sheet coverage. We were in St. Louis for an event, and this worked out very well. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in town.

The rooms were quiet, spacious, and comfortable, and we found several restaurants and activities within walking distance. From arrival, service was great: the valet helped with our bags, and the front desk checked us in quickly despite our three separate reservations. The bistro staff were friendly, especially Mona, who was a highlight of our stay. The manager also dealt with one small concern professionally and urgently. I highly recommend this hotel for a visit to St. Louis.

The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the breakfast service and food suggestions around the city were great. Those tips and the room quality made up for a minor hassle getting fresh towels. I’d put the stay closer to 4.5 stars.

The rooms are spacious, but the AC won’t go below 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Water pressure was really poor, and cell service can be spotty in the older, solidly built building.
