St. Mary Village

There’s very little choice for food or fuel nearby, basically one restaurant and a gas station within 50+ miles, so the prices make sense for such a remote area. We spent two nights at St. Mary Village while seeing the east side of Glacier National Park. The room was comfortable, with lovely views of the mountains and a quiet brook.

The tiny home was cute and laid out well, and the location was great. But the bedding had stains and didn’t seem clean. We arrived late and weren’t shown where the bathroom was, which was hard to find in the dark since it isn’t in the room. The receptionist that night was rude and didn’t seem interested in helping. When we called to ask about slippers for going back and forth, we were brushed off rudely. There was a stand fan, but it didn’t do much, and the lack of air conditioning hadn’t been made clear when we booked. It felt expensive for what we got, though the location and Snow Goose Grill would make me stay again. I really hope they improve the cleanliness.

It’s a handy spot near Glacier’s east entrance, with a restaurant, coffee shop, gas station, grocery, and gift shop all on site. The hotel has an old rustic feel, maybe renovated in the 80s. Our room was large, and the back deck overlooking the river was fantastic. The mattress was decent, though not perfect.

Dinner at the Snow Goose was great, and the coffee bar staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy with the food, service, and staff at St Mary’s village. The west hotel room was small but very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. It was a very positive stay.
