Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown by IHG

Joe is a fantastic manager. He runs things tightly, and it's clear his staff respect him and enjoy their jobs. Stacy was great too. Those two went out of their way to look after me during my recent business stay. Many thanks to Joe and Stacy.

The noise after the game made it impossible to sleep until nearly 1 a.m. There were loud, probably drunk adults talking at full volume, stomping through the halls, and slamming doors. Sirens woke us a few times too, though that's part of being downtown near emergency services and isn't the hotel's fault. For the price, the room could have been bigger and had more than a mini fridge and microwave. We got a very good deal with rewards, so I'm not sure the regular rate is justified for the room size and what's included. On the plus side, check-in was quick and easy, the staff were helpful, and our clean room was ready two hours early. We were there for a Wild hockey game, so being right across the street was perfect. The pool was nice and not crowded, the vending machines had lots of options, and the attached restaurant made it easy to grab food without leaving the property.

Being able to walk to the Wild game was a big plus, and getting to the hotel and into the parking lot was easy. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities. Wild Bill's restaurant and bar was another highlight, with great food, drinks, and staff. Checkout was busy because of the game, but the staff handled guests quickly and efficiently. I’d definitely stay again.

I was disappointed with this Holiday Inn and wouldn’t return or recommend it. The booking site advertised free breakfast, but there wasn’t any. I know the listing was through a third party, but that’s still what it showed. Our TV remote and phone both failed, and when we told the front desk, the staff said they couldn’t do anything. They were rude and didn’t apologize or offer a solution. The hotel could also use some updating, and there was no information in the room about hotel services, locations, or options.
