Days Inn Saint Pauls

I booked this place because it was the nearest decent motel chain and it advertised a pool. Turns out the pool is permanently closed. The room smelled funky until I cooled it down and got some of the humidity out. It was way overpriced, and I didn't feel very safe here. This place leaves a lot to be desired. If you do stay, be ready to handle yourself. I’d avoid it if you can.

After car trouble on 95, a mobile mechanic brought me to this Days Inn. The first room had cockroaches everywhere, and the second was just as infested and dirty. I paid $100 and couldn't sleep for fear a bug would crawl on me. The floors were filthy, there was what looked like poop smeared on the wall behind the toilet, and some hard, sticky substance on the furniture holding the TV. Their phone didn't work, either. Breakfast was just loaves of bread and a toaster, plus yogurt or cereal. I've never been so disgusted. I have pictures, but there's nowhere to upload them here.

I have to work online, but even after paying over $100, I still can't work because the internet isn't working. They said they're dealing with Spectrum and have no control, but they sure had no problem charging me. The room itself is okay, fine. I've had Spectrum at home before without any problems. Now that I'm building my house, I'm stuck dealing with these trash hotels.

The staff are why this is still a five star review. The toilet wasn't working when we arrived, but they quickly got a plunger and fixed it. The room had its issues, though that was what I expected from a cheap room. They still made this motel stop on our road trip a good night's rest.
