Coral Reef Beach Resort

I’m tired of fake reviews, so I’ll give you the real version: our room smelled a little musty when we arrived, but the smell went away once the AC was on, and the place was super clean. We had a one bedroom condo with a king bed and a really comfortable mattress. Water pressure wasn’t the best, but it was something we could live with for a temporary stay. The pool area is fabulous, with really nice facilities right at Saint Pete Beach and beach access. You can get a cabana or just head down to the beach. I think it’s a good value. Pick up groceries at the store down the street and enjoy dinner out. We’ve stayed at nearby resorts before and they were fine, but they keep getting more expensive. This is a timeshare condo, though they seem to rent some units out, so if you’re lucky enough to get one, enjoy. I highly recommend it for couples, families with kids, or older travelers. Everyone is really nice.

This timeshare has about 60 units, two pools, and 3 got tubs. The pool used to be even bigger, and it’s the best on the beach. There isn’t a bar yet, though the cabana bar is about two feet away on the beach. It’s between TradeWinds and Rumfish, but has no affiliation with TradeWinds. Owners have been coming for years and rent their weeks to other interested guests. The front desk is helpful to a fault. Ask for what you need, and be generous when you do.

We got a great price for the value, and the beach itself is fantastic. It’s mostly a timeshare property with one and two bedroom condos. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was big, clean, and great, and beach access was open and spacious. We went during the first off season week, so it wasn’t crowded and there was lots of room at the pool. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and having a Publix down the street was handy for groceries.

The location is beautiful and so is the pool area, and the security man was pleasant to us. But we felt unwelcome from the start. At the entrance, a woman in uniform was smoking and seemed bothered by us; we weren’t sure where to check in. She and two others in the office were short and annoyed, and my husband walked out, offended by how we were treated. The room was about what we expected, though there was also a cockroach. I understand, it’s FL. The bar was closed due to covid, still?! When my daughter brought wet towels to the office to exchange them, she was told to use the washers and dryers on site. We had only 4 towels for a two bedroom condo, including both pool and bath towels. Most of the staff seemed over 55 and like they hated their jobs. Customer service needs to be much better. We were also charged extra after checkout without knowing what it was for. We live nearby and won’t return or recommend the place because of how we were treated.
