St Pete Shores Hotel

We had an easy time parking and didn’t have to carry our stuff very far. The restaurant and bar served good food and drinks at fair prices, and there were plenty of beach chairs without a fight or extra charge. Jet ski rentals are right out front too. There are so many good things here, I think this will be our go-to for beach getaways. I’ve stayed at a few places in Saint Pete Beach, and this is my favorite so far. The location and view are hard to beat. Our suite was roomy, spacious, very clean, and had good views. I live in Florida, so hotel rooms can be hard to impress me sometimes, lol, but this place was wonderful.

The room was freezing, and there was nothing we could do to change the temperature. We tried calling the front desk for another blanket, but the phone didn’t work, so I walked back to the desk through the construction zone during a storm. The guy there barely acknowledged the problem but promised someone would bring a blanket. More than three hours later, we still had none. This “motel” seems to have changed its name, but nothing was updated on Priceline, the other sites, or even its own site. The buildings are old and run down, with major construction underway, trucks, workers, orange netting, and blocked-off areas. The old office was closed with paint on its windows, so we drove around for ten minutes before finding registration. There’s a $45 nightly “resort fee” that gets you absolutely nothing extra. Even the beach sun beds cost another $60 each per day. Next time we’ll try La Quinta. Even a Red Roof Inn might have been a better choice.

The room wasn’t ready at the 4 pm check-in, and the balcony’s sliding glass door had been screwed shut, so it couldn’t be used. The toilet kept running. Don’t call the front desk, the phone line no longer works, and the other options just ring and ring. This felt like a complete bait and switch. We thought we’d booked Sirata Beach Resort, then found out buildings 3 and 4 aren’t Sirata Beach Resort anymore but this trash hotel. It’s older, but the bedding was especially disgusting and unsanitary. None of the beds had fitted sheets. The bunk beds in the family room had two flat sheets and no blankets, while the king bed had a flat sheet over a stained mattress cover. There’s no way a flat sheet stays put on a king bed, and that cover clearly isn’t changed after each guest. All the staff wear Sirata Beach Resort emblems, but this place isn’t worth the price or that quality. There’s a $45 resort fee plus a parking fee. The online listing says $40. At the Tradewinds, a $40 resort fee gets you so much more, and at least your bed has a fitted sheet.

We waited two hours at the restaurant and still never got our food. The bathrooms and beds were dirty, and the service was awful. The photos look like they belong to a different hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
