The Waves St Pete Beach #14

I’ve stayed here several times and really like the location near other places, along with the amenities.

The pool was nice, the neighborhood was very nice, and there were lots of food options with delicious food. The beach was clean and pleasant. Still, I don’t recommend staying here. Entry was by code with no check-in, but they wouldn’t let us in before 4pm. When we opened our unit, there was a strong musty smell, so we had to open the doors and windows to air it out. The coffee maker they supplied had mold inside and couldn’t be used. The blankets and towels had been washed recently but weren’t fully dried, and smelled damp overnight. The bed had a strange, thick pillow top that hurt my back, so we removed it the second night. That didn’t help: the mattress was very odd and hard as a rock, and the wooden base moved a lot and made noise whenever we shifted. We woke up with bad allergies every day. I do restoration for a living, so I checked the air ducts, and they were disgusting. I don’t know when the couches were last deep cleaned. I fell asleep watching TV the first night and woke around 3am with bad allergies, puffy eyes, and itching all over. I moved to the bed and could breathe better, but the itching continued. We checked out Saturday and visited family. After taking allergy medicine, my symptoms finally calmed, but my skin had red marks and a rash. The place looks nice and cozy at first, but as time goes by you notice the reality. A hotel would be better.

Are you all crazy, renting this place with these add-on fees? Property service charge, resort fee, and cleaning fee. I’m not sure what resort you mean. This is nothing but an old apartment complex refurbished into private condos for AirBNB. I’ll pass.

The pool area has trees around it, which gives the place a nice look. It’s right by the beach, and the interior is really nice for the price. Not too expensive, either. A great spot to spend a little time in Florida.
