Crystal Bay Historic Hotel

Online check-in made things really easy, and parking was across the street with a space always available. The room was very spacious, and so was the bathroom, in this beautiful older hotel. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from. My only issue was the howling wind coming through the AC unit. I’d definitely stay again.

My wife and I were happy to start our ride with a 44 mile day instead of 51. We stayed here the night before our C2C bike ride across FL to Titusville. The Pinellas Trail is only a 3 minute ride away, and the staff found us a convenient place to lock our bikes overnight. Starting at Crystal Bay instead of the downtown St Pete trailhead meant we could avoid parking garages, which all have a 72-hour limit while the C2C trip takes 5 or 6 days. There’s plenty of safe, free street parking near Crystal Bay. Built in 1916, the hotel has a quiet location and a lot of history, but also the conveniences you’d expect in a chain hotel. The room was large and relaxing. Breakfast was ok.

We wanted our new rescue golden retriever to have a little getaway, and Crystal Bay was so dog friendly. There was a whole bag of treats waiting in our room, and the hotel and room were extremely clean. Cassandra was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating with everything we needed, always smiling. We travel often, and she and the rest of the staff were award winning. Truly, nowhere else comes close. Whether you bring an animal or not, you’ll have a lovely time. Thanks for making our stay so positive!

The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. There’s enough parking in front of the hotel. It was built in 1915, is on the National Register of Historic Places, and has hosted guests like Babe Ruth, Glen Miller, and Marilyn Monroe.
