I booked directly and requested an accessible room on the ground floor, but they first put us on the second floor without an accessible room. The pleasant, helpful man at check-in moved us to the first floor, but the room still didn’t have enough room for a wheelchair to get around. He offered another room, but the place was very dirty and smelled bad, so we decided not to stay. He refunded us. We went elsewhere and found a cleaner, accessible room for less. I don’t recommend this motel. It badly needs renovation and deep cleaning.

It’s an old motel that hasn’t been updated in years, so everything felt old. Still, the room was very clean, the blankets were clean, and it smelled fresh, not moldy. There were no pesky bugs like roaches or bed bugs, which I’ve run into at motels before. If you just need an affordable place to lay your head for a night or two, it should suit your needs.

We stayed because my son was graduating from the Army at Fort Leonard Wood. On family day, we got back around 7 p.m. and, for the second time, our keys didn’t work. The manager brought new ones, but when we opened the door, everything belonging to me, my husband, my son, and my daughter was gone. The previous guest had apparently kept a key and came back while we were out eating with family, taking everything. We called the police and filed a report. Before they arrived, the manager said the cameras didn’t work, but we found out they did. He then said he was done talking, got into his vehicle, and tried to leave. My family and I blocked the vehicle so he couldn’t go while this was being sorted out. An hour after we’d left for another hotel, an employee called my husband to say our things were back. We met the officer at the motel, and the employee gave a five-minute story about how everything had returned while we were gone. The police helped us a lot. They said they’d dealt with the woman who stole our things before and described her as a crackhead. The manager leaving while this was unresolved was bad management. This was the worst experience ever, and we’ll never return. We only stayed because Hampton Inn had overbooked after we’d made a reservation, following our ten-hour drive.

We reserved a nonsmoking room, but the first one smelled like smoke and looked disgusting. The second room they gave us was dirty, and the sheets had wet marks all over them. The last room hadn’t even been cleaned, with trash everywhere. All three nonsmoking rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes.
