Sleep Inn St. Robert-Fort Leonard Wood

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the price was really good. We found the online registration easy, and being able to bring our pets mattered a lot to us. It was our first time at Sleep Inn, but we’ll keep it in mind when we travel. There are a few differences from the bigger hotel chains we’ve used, like having no pool, but the welcoming staff and pet policy won us over. Breakfast wasn’t a highlight, though it was fine. If you just need somewhere to stop and sleep, this is a great option. We’d definitely recommend it.

When the manager finally checked the shower, he confirmed it was only producing lukewarm water. He blamed it on the hotel being at 60% occupancy, which didn’t add up to me since there were only a few cars in the lot. He still wouldn’t offer a partial refund, and he was rude the whole time. Another front desk employee also seemed visibly ill and kept coughing while helping guests. I arrived around 1:30 a.m. on 1/21/26. After going to bed, I got up to shower and found there was no hot water. I reported it at the front desk, where the manager brushed me off and suggested it couldn’t be a real problem because the previous guest hadn’t mentioned it. He said he’d “look into it” and left me waiting at the counter for about 10 minutes. I wouldn’t stay here again. You might end up paying for something you didn’t break!

The staff we met were friendly, and the room itself was pretty good. We were charged our hotel cost and the $250 in pet fees, which we had no problem paying. Then we got two extra charges totaling another $250. When we tried to understand why those additional charges had appeared, we got the runaround. I’m being specific because the GM seems to be treating them as if they’re all the same charge. Instead of reaching out and trying to help, the GM sent a snide email. And the nasty gram from Jenn Hale made it worse, especially since she’s supposedly so nice.

For $70 a night at the online rate, this was a great value. We’ve paid much more for much less. We drive trucks and only need a hotel now and then, and other places we’ve stayed don’t compare. The room was clean, breakfast was hot and decent, and the employees were friendly. I’ll keep Sleep Inn in mind for future trips.
